Kai grew up in Malaysia and had the privilege to study abroad in Wisconsin and Florida. Kai and her partner, Blake, were happy to settle in beautiful East Tennessee and be a part of the UT family. She identifies as Chinese and loves all Asian food. Kai and Blake also have two cats and a dog. Some fun facts about Kai: she loves travelling and speaks three languages. Kai’s research focuses on culturally inclusive school mental health, motivational interviewing and positive psychology interventions, and support for students in accelerated academic programs.
