Mia is a filmmaker born in Washington D.C. and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. Mia’s work has been selected for the EasterSeals Disability Film Challenge, Old Orchard Film Festival, Paris Award Film Festival, Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, Urban Dreams Mental Health Film Festival, NYC Mental Health & Wellness Festival, Atlanta Women’s Film Festival, and most recently, her documentary exploring the impact of Tourette Syndrome on adolescence through a female lens was selected to be included in the Utopia Film Festival. Mia is passionate about bringing underrepresented characters to the forefront of stories. When Mia was eleven, she was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and later developed other co-occurring conditions including OCD and ADHD. She became a Youth Ambassador for the TAA in 2020 and has continued her advocacy in college by being a member and serving on the board of her campus’s mental health service organization.
