My name is Zachary Harmon, I am 18 years old and a freshman at Beacon College in Leesburg Florida. I am majoring in Psychology. I grew up in Fair Lawn NJ and struggled most of my life with several diagnoses that affected my educational and social experiences. I was diagnosed with Tourettic OCD (a combination of TS and OCD) when I was 13 years old and have worked very hard over the years to both understand my diagnosis and help better regulate myself in stressful situations as stress makes my symptoms much worse. When I was in high school, I became active with several Tourette’s organizations like the TAA as a Youth Ambassador, and the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome as a Youth Advocate. I have advocated with the TAA in Washington DC and I have presented around NJ at hospitals and schools helping educate others about TS.
