In addition to being diagnosed with Tourette’s at 5 years of age, Charles has worked professionally with Tourette’s and Tic Disorders for approximately 10 years as a psychologist. In addition to therapeutic work, he also trains other professionals in working with Tourette’s and Tic Disorders, consults with professionals and the community to promote public knowledge and understanding, facilitates an online support group for the TAA, and is an active participate in national and state professional consultation groups for Tourette’s and Tic Disorders. He is currently involved in a research project designed to improve professional knowledge and understanding of the experiences of women with Tourette’s. Charles is also an active member of the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Tourette Syndrome Working Group, and a national professional consultation group for working with Tourette’s and tic disorders.
